Led Gypsy Roger Daltrey “A Good Night Out” This concert was as much like Storytellers as I've ever been to, and it was good. 1. Before he played a note, Roger paid tribute to Dolly Parton, whose couch he spilled a full cup of black coffee on by mistake many years ago. 2. He remarked a few times how dry the desert air was and how detrimental that was to singers' voices. He repeatedly poured bottled water on a couple of black cloths on either side of the playlist on stage. 3. Roger asked his roadie Binky if he could clean his car and if he was cold in the air-conditioned venue. 4. He paid tribute to the so-called Farewell Tour of 1982 ("What a fuckin' liar I am!"), and also to the late Keith Moon, whose death was part of the rationale for having a final tour. Zak Starkey's name also came up, as did the implication there may be a tour of some sort in the UK in 2027. Whether that meant The Who or not wasn't entirely clear. 5. Daltrey also performed his first solo single, the Leo Sayer-written "Giving It All Away", a Taj Mahal cover "Freedom Ride", the Pete Townshend song "After The Fire", a Paul Simon cover "The Boy In The Bubble", a CCR cover "Have You Ever Seen The Rain", and Neil Young's "Rockin' In A Free World" throughout the set. 6. Who numbers included: "Squeeze Box", "Who Are You" (second attempt), "Won't Get Fooled Again" ("I want you to do the scream!), "Going Mobile" (vocals by Simon Townshend), "Baba O'Reilly" (featuring a fantastic violin solo at the end), and "Young Man Blues", the set closer. Show was almost exactly two hours. 7. Roger paid tribute to the late Wilko Johnson with the song "Going Back Home" from their joint effort in 2014. He related Johnson's affiliation with "Game of Thrones", and his struggles with pancreatic cancer including the novel treatment an oncologist used to extend his life by nine years after having been promised with only a year (or less) to live. 8. Opening act was Jeffrey Gaines of Harrisburg, PA, a folk rocker who played a very impressive 45-minute set including a cover of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes". Roger Daltrey Sep 05, 2026
Led Gypsy This concert wasn't even billed as "The Doors of the 21st Century", as you can see by the image below. Just "The Doors", which is exactly how it felt. Ian Astbury had Jim Morrison nailed. It's probably the most emoting, spiritual concerts I've ever been to. I swear the Lizard King was with us that night. People around me, particularly the women, were almost in a trance. The crowd rushed the stage at the end of the concert and they kept playing like nothing had happened, almost as if they were expecting it or even encouraging it. If ever a video or audio record of this show exists, I would treasure it immensely. The Doors Sep 05, 2026

Brucefan24 Edmund…thanks for pointing that out. I’ve included in notes that they were guests. Also requested to have The Neville Brothers removed, but technically the names are supposed to be listed if they were guests. Only way to distinguish between opening act and guest is through the notes section. Grateful Dead / Los Lobos / The Neville Brothers Sep 05, 2026
