Toms Grēviņš was born on 16 February 1982 in Riga, Latvia. His parents, Māris Grēviņš and Gundega Saulīte, worked in theatre studies and cultural programming. His grandparents included the poet Valdis Grēviņš and the playwright and musicologist Bruno Saulītis.
