The Dirty Diamond is the brain child of Sam Babayan. After breaking away from the Los Angeles Based Slow Motion Reign, Sam began his exploration of song writing. Sam's journey through music began with the guitar. He learned albums of his favorite artists by ear and played them while facing a mirror to channel the spirits of his idols (These being the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Crowes, and Eric Clapton). When Sam joined Slow Motion Reign, then called iO (translates to Armenian as "Yes"), he met his musical counterpart in Narek Pogosyan.
