The Castiles were an a rock band formed by vocalist and rhythm guitarist George Theiss in 1964 after seeing The Beatles perform on "The Ed Sullivan Show." In 1965, Thesis invited Bruce Springsteen to join the band as lead guitarist, co-vocalist, and harmonica player. Springsteen accepted, but tension between Theiss and Springsteen led The Castiles to break up in 1968. Springsteen joined the short-lived rock band Earth a couple of months later.
