Stomp Gordon Concert History

Billy Vera, in his liner notes to the "East Coast Blues" section of the 1996 box set The Mercury Blues 'n' Rhythm Story 1945-1955, says: "Blues shouter Archie 'Stomp' Gordon had a relatively short recording career, from 1952-56. He recorded for Decca, Mercury, Chess and Savoy, favoring the kind of loud, ribald tales of sex and booze that made Wynonie Harris famous." His Mercury sides were recorded in 1953.
