For over three decades, Rick Potts has been an experimental sound artist and improvisational musician, starting in 1976 as a founding member of the LAFMS, The Los Angeles Free Music Society, a pioneering experimental DIY Sound Art/Noise collective. The once underground group of outside musicians is now internationally recognized as originators. He has developed nontraditional techniques to create and control sounds produced by adapted and customized musical instruments, homemade sound sources and found objects.
