Navan is a Celtic group from Wisconsin composed of Amy Curl, Paul Gorman, Sheila Shigley, and Elizabeth Simcock. They sing in the languages of Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man—sometimes solo, in the manner most often used today by traditional singers who have inherited them; sometimes in unison, following the traditional rhythm; and most of the time with added harmonies. The music is nearly always sung a cappella, without accompaniment.
