MC Shy D (born Peter Jones in the Bronx, NY) from Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the most popular early Miami Bass rappers. He is Afrika Bambaataa's cousin. His early singles were released on 4-Sight Records, and his string of highly successful albums came out on Luke Skyywalker Records (later Luke Records). After a stint in jail, he was released to find an overhwelming amount of royalties due to him from Luke Skyywalker Records, and effectively executed a lawsuit against the company.
