La Plata es una banda de synth pop valenciana formada en octubre de 2016 por integrantes de Carmonas, Teletexto, Thee Vertigos, Acapvlco, Mental Signals y Poder Absoluto. En 2015 Diego Escriche (Acapvlco) busca consolidar su proyecto en solitario y publica en las redes sociales el que será el primer single del grupo, "Un atasco". Se une a la formación durante 2016 Miguel J. Carmona a la batería, a la que terminan dando forma María Gea al bajo, Salvador Frasquet a la guitarra y Patricia Ferragud al teclado.
