Folkulaka is a Ukrainian horror-folk band whose name combines the words ‘folk’ and a Ukrainian variation of the term ‘werewolf ’. The band emerged during the pandemic in 2020 as a studio project of Sasha Kladbishche (ZWYNTAR, Skladno), Antonina Vinnyk (Natural Spirit, deRuny) and Tash (naddél, Aversa FM). Their work is a revision of Ukrainian folk songs and dances, immersed in a mystical and macabre atmosphere. The mysticism in Folkulaka’s songs is simultaneously embodied via creepy stories and ironic humour.
