elke, moniker of Nashville based singer-songwriter Kayla Graninger, came to fruition when, at age 17, Graninger moved to New York, immersing herself in the music scene. Although she had no concrete ideas on what her artistic path was going to be growing up, she knew she wanted to be a rockstar and learned to play guitar and write songs in Pittsburg. After moving to New York, she performed under various different names until landing on elke, the name of her late grandmother and her mother.
