DJ Butcher (aka Alex Steffan) is a 25 year old Brisbane based deejay. His foundations lay within the hip-hop music and its surrounding culture giving Butcher a good grounding for his movement into the electronic dance music phenomenon. Starting his career as a musician and producer, he swiftly moved into deejaying to accommodate for the lack of in South-East Queensland at the time (2005). He started his live turntablism career on the Gold Coast before quickly moving to Brisbane to take on more serious ventures.
