LuAnn de Lesseps (born May 17, 1965), is best known for her appearances on the reality television show The Real Housewives of New York City. She is often referred to as "The Countess" on the show as a result of her previous marriage to French count Alexandre de Lesseps, a descendant of Ferdinand de Lesseps, the architect of the Suez Canal.
