Aural Elixir was created in New Orleans @ 1996 by Jesse Maclaine (vocals & piano/organ) as a vehicle for her multi-genre compositions as well as those of her favorite artists such as Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos & Frank Zappa. With the help of her generous & talented friends (Lynn Drury, Jim Ankar, Chris Munson, Dylan "Sticks" Hicks, Tim Robertson & Charles Gammill) the first Aural Elixir cd, "Love & Grappling," was recorded in 1999 & officially released in the summer of 2000 at the famous Tipitina's in New Orleans.
