Apes on Tapes come to light in Bologna (Italy), during the warm sweaty spring-summer of 2005. Antani and Lagàr were two solo artists (actually Antani played with the Blip Trio), but since they listen to each others live performances, at Homework Festival 3.0 (May 05), they understand they have to build and deconstruct tunes together. Luca (Lagàr) was an italian-east-coast-rock-addicted teenager who later moved to electronic beats; Giordano (Antani) grew up with Akai samplers in an old school hip hop atmosphere in Tuscany.
