1994: was a rock band formed in 1978 by vocalist and front-woman Karen Lawrence in 1978 after departing from the L.A. Jets. The band released two albums, "1994:" (1978) and "Please Stand By" (1979) before disbanding. Lawrence would go on to lead the 1980s new wave band "Karen Lawrence and the Pinz".
